노스 컨트리 스쿨은 뉴욕시에서 4시간 30분 거리의 뉴욕 주 Lake Placid에 위치하고 있으며, 4학년에서 9학년 학생들이 재학하고 있는 남녀공학 주니어 보딩스쿨에 해당합니다. 학교는 인종, 성별, 종교의 차별을 두지 않고 자연을 활용한 교육 및 직접적인 경험에서 얻는 배움을 중요시 하고 있습니다. 노스 컨트리 스쿨은 학생들에게 생산적이고 만족스러운 삶을 제공하면서도 세상에 기여할 수 있는 삶을 가질 수 있도록 가치, 자신감, 지식, 기술 등을 가르치고 있습니다. 전교생이 85명으로 매우 소규모 학교를 지향하고 있으며, 한 반의 평균 학생수는 9명, 교사 대 학생의 비율이 1:3으로 비교적 어린 학생들이 섬세한 관리를 받을 수 있도록 노력하고 있습니다. 학생 수에 비해 넓은 200에이커의 캠퍼스를 가지고 있으며, 캠퍼스에는 스키장, 학교에서 운영하는 농장, 유기농 정원, 아트 스튜디오 등을 갖추고 있습니다. 학교에서는 철저한 학업 프로그램과 함께 스튜디오 아트나 행위 예술 방면에서의 다양한 수업들, 가족적인 기숙사 생활, 승마에서부터 빙벽 등반까지의 야외 활동 등 학생들에게 최상의 교육 환경을 제공하고 있습니다. 학생들은 자연 친화적인 환경에서 진정한 배움을 얻게 되며, 많은 학생들이 유수의 보딩 스쿨로 진학하고 있습니다.

North Country School's 200-acre campus is located in the Adirondack Mountains near Lake Placid, New York, a popular resort town and the site of two Winter Olympic Games. Many of our buildings use solar energy and biomass heating to help reduce the school's carbon footprint and to teach and model responsible and sustainable living practices.

North Country School students live with a roommate in small houses of 8-12 children. The house becomes the place for much of a student's learning and growth. Wednesdays are 'home nights' when each house prepares and eats dinner together and enjoys outdoor games and activities.

North Country School's annual spring theatre production involves the entire school an highlights student actors and sophisticated theatre technology. Students may choose to be actors, set designers, musicians, or members of the stage crew. NCS provides students with many avenues for creative expression that promote a life-long love of the arts.

North Country School students come from diverse backgrounds, cultures and countries - and they are known well by the dedicated, multi-talented adults who teach, live with and care for them. 20% of our students are international. In 2014, we enrolled students from 12 states and 9 foreign countries.
