대로우 스쿨은 1932년 설립된 남녀공학 보딩 스쿨로서 설립 당시에는 남학교였으나 1970년도 남녀공학으로 바뀌었습니다. 뉴욕주의 Albany에서 30분 정도 떨어진 위치에 작은 도시에 자리잡고 있습니다. 이 학교의 가장 큰 특징은 바로 소수 정예의 집중 수업입니다. 클래스 당 평균 인원이 9명이고 교사 대 학생의 비율은 1:4로 굉장히 작은 규모의 수업을 진행하고 있으며 교사들은 모든 학생들이 빠짐없이 수업에 적극적으로 참여할 수 있도록 장려하고 있습니다. 학업이 부진한 학생은 Academic Mentoring Program을 통해 1:1 보충 수업을 받을 수 있습니다. 또한 교사 전원이 캠퍼스 내에서 학생들과 함께 거주하여 친밀한 관계를 유지하며 섬세한 관리를 받을 수 있습니다. 학업뿐만 아니라 협동과 공동체 내의 단합의 중요성을 중시하는 이 학교에서는 매주 화요일 저녁 모여서 식사와 함께 공동체의 발전을 위한 대화를 나누며 금요일 오전에도 모여 이런 시간을 가집니다.

Sustainability is a theme integrated into all the disciplines, at all levels of the Darrow curriculum. The goal of this academic component is to help students better understand the complexity of environmental, social, and economic issues and to provide the primary orienting context for our Hands-to-Work, Community Service, and Spring Term programs.

Darrow has an excellent college placement record. Our intent is to inspire not just intellectual curiosity, but also intellectual courage. Darrow students enter college ready to add their voices and their insights to the classroom. The Joline Arts Center, which opened in 2002, contains studios dedicated to individual media including ceramics, drawing, digital design, and 'dry' photography, 'wet' photography, painting, and woodworking.

The athletic program emphasizes teamwork, fitness, and the development of specific skills. All students participate in each of the three seasons. Interscholastic teams compete in soccer, cross-country, basketball, softball, lacrosse, tennis, and Ultimate Frisbee.
